Veneers
Veneers are extremely thin laminates of porcelain that act as new enamel for your teeth. They are bonded to the teeth and can be create an entirely new smile. Porcelain veneers can be used for many different situations- to repare broken teeth, to even-out crooked or malposed teeth, (veneers are sometimes referred to as "instant orthodontics"), to close missing spaces, or to hide unsightly tooth discoloration. Once bonded, veneers are very strong. Veneers are the most esthetically pleasing restoration in dentistry.
When placing porcelain veneers, we pay close attention to the patient's surrounding teeth, and design each veneer to complement the overall smile. The result is both beautiful and functional.
If cared for properly, your veneers will last a very long time- perhaps indefinitely. We ensure that your new veneers are constructed of the most durable porcelain materials available.
Procedure
Veneers, especially Lumineers, can sometimes be placed without any reshaping of existing teeth. In other cases, it may be necessary to modify the shape of the teeth to accomodate an ideal veneer. We will then either digitally scan your teeth using the iTero Scanner,or take a conventional impression of the teeth. Our lab will then custom make each veneer. While the new veneers are created, we will provide you with temporary veneers. Our temporary restorations will resemble your natural teeth so that you can continue your daily life without worrying about looking your best between appointments.
During your second visit to the office, we will proceed with the bonding of your restorations. We will make sure that your new veneers feel exactly like one of your natural teeth. You'll have that beautiful smile in no time!
